The association
Born of citizen resolve, rooted in its own territory.
The Atâa Association for Development and Cooperation is a citizen-led initiative born in the heart of douar Afrad Nchater, in the rural commune of Imsouane, in south-west Morocco. Founded by residents who decided to act, it works for human development, inclusive education, continuing training and community solidarity.
Our mission is simple but essential: to give children, young people and women the means to learn, to speak up and to build their own future, in a rural area that is too often forgotten. Through language workshops in French and English, introductions to computing, sport such as football and surfing, practical training and awareness campaigns, Atâa creates spaces for learning, sharing and self-reliance.
Guided by cooperation, inclusion, sustainability and collective commitment, the association works hand in hand with local actors, volunteers and national and international partners, answering the real needs of the territory.

What we do
Education
Learning, wherever you are born
Every child deserves a good education: French and English workshops, an introduction to computing, homework support and access to culture.
Training
Skills that open doors
Continuing training for young people and women: crafts, computing, entrepreneurship, sewing, cooking and life skills, shaped around local realities.
Sport & expression
Room to dream bigger
Football, surfing, creative workshops and educational games: places where children and teenagers find their voice and gain confidence.
Cooperation
Building with people, never instead of them
We bring together residents, volunteers and partners to design lasting, humane answers, in the service of the community that carries them.
